Do You Need Help?

Do you have a parent or relative who…

• Has lost interest in his/her personal appearance or hygiene
• Has a medical condition requiring an increased level of attention
• Forgets to take his/her medication as prescribed
• Has had a drop in activity level
• Has difficulty walking
• Shows evidence of recent bumps, bruises, or burns
• Fails to recall the names of familiar people, places, or objects
• Has difficulty in performing everyday tasks
• Is acting strangely and/or has memory lapses or confusion
• Needs help with meals, grocery shopping, or housekeeping chores
• Has increasing difficulties handling household maintenance
• Recently lost a spouse
• Can no longer drive or take public transportation without assistance
• Has no Will or Advance Medical Directive
• Is managing well at present, but has made no plans for the future

If you answered YES to one or more of these, the warning signs are there!

We Can Help

The most important step you can take is to direct your focus to the future - planning ahead. Delaying or avoiding the inevitable is both undesirable and risky. Your parent or relative WILL grow older, and his/her needs WILL intensify as physical and mental abilities decline.

Our goal is to help you take control of the situation before it controls you.

We can help you:

• Recognize indicators of the need for intervention
• Understand how these needs may change over time
• Recognize symptoms and indicators of underlying problems
• Deal with the anxiety and confusion about choices
• Plan for the future and develop caregiving strategies
• Select and make efficient use of available resources

Finding Solutions

Our services are individualized - we don't try to fit your situation into a prepackaged scenario. We work with you, appropriate family members, and other professionals when required. Because our services are provided on a fee-for-service basis, we have no financial affiliation or bias for/against any of the resources that we might identify.

Our first contact will likely be by telephone, followed by a person-to-person meeting. To allow for the least amount of disruption to your routine, we can meet with you in your office, your home, or at another mutually acceptable location. The time required for the consultation will depend on the complexity of your relative’s situation.
